Pahrump, Pahrump, Pahrump,

Spent the last few days in Vegas. Not the real high, all night activity days that you may associate with Vegas, but rather quiet and subdued. Denice still favoring that gouty toe, so not wanting to create further pain, we just sat about and read and enjoyed Vegas from afar. Sam's Town has all the amenities that most of Vegas has to offer anyway. Casinos, restaraunts, light and water shows, shops, gambling, theaters and live performances. Now I know better ones are available on the strip, but that we will keep for another day, another trip. A couple of times while Denice was resting on the bed , as I went by, I just gave that toe a little twist. LUCKY I'M ALIVE TODAY!!!! Today, April the 4th, our time is Vegas is up, and time to move on.
Our latest segment of the trip as of April 4th, 2010

We have reservations in Pahrump for a week.

Out of Vegas

In To The Mountains

The route out of Vegas is from Sams Town onto 515 via Flamingo Road, south to intersection of 215 west. Followed it to exit 8 onto Windmill Lane west. It turns into Highway 160 or Blue Diamond Road. Twenty miles out of Vegas you start to climb fairly dramatically to the summit at about 5600 feet. An abrupt change from the elevation of 3200 feet at Vegas.

And Over the Pass

And On to Pahrump

Then back down to 2300 feet at Pahrump. We had reservations at the Best Western Station Hotel and RV Resort, so we checked in. They had given us site 414, but when we got there it was already occupied, and nobody home. Back to the office and requested site 481. They approved and so we set up there, a nicer one than 414 anyway. We like the site and the Park!!
