Today we took a picnic lunch and went down the road toward Yuma to Mile 85, and then turned left and went to Palm Canyon. About 8 miles of washboard gravel, through "Healthy" Desert country. Came to a parking area after climbing to 700 or 800 feet elevation. From there walked another 1/2 mile up a rather steep valley to view some Palm trees growing up an almost vertical canyon crack in the rock. Pretty spectacular! Here is Denice in the canyon. She did good walking that distance on some fairly unstable rocky ground.
That is a great photo.
